The brief given was to communicate the clients’ company values of community, quality and artistry, and to create a concept that would sit sympathetically in the picturesque country town of Lewes.

The overall scheme I developed ran throughout both the shop and café, depicting colours taken from the local landscape.  The company’s values were central to the development of the scheme, and traditional materials were used throughout; local carpenters created bespoke pieces, showcasing the artistry and quality of the design and the products themselves. A gentle nod to the history of Lewes and its community was subtly integrated using pattern, and by including small antique items – often incorporated in unique ways.
